Nigerian Afropop superstar, Mr. Eazi, is reviving his famous ‘Detty Rave’ series of events in 2022, with a tour of Ghanaian universities.
The ‘Road to Detty Rave’ tour will take place this summer between July 31 and August 31.
The University of Cape Coast; Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST); University of Ghana (Legon) are the three confirmed, while a fourth university will be selected following the results of an online survey.
Each event will be hosted by Mr Eazi, with surprise guest performances broadcast on live television across Africa.
Since its inception in 2017, ‘Detty Rave’ has been a major calendar draw bringing a cast of top international artists to Accra, including Rick Ross, Koffee, Giggs, Afro B, Kranium, King Promise, Simi, Busiswa and KiDI, alongside Africa’s top DJs.
The Covid 19 pandemic has forced Eazi to put the event on hold after the 2019 edition.
“Since I coined the term that has become synonymous with December fun in West Africa, #DettyDecember, Detty Rave is an event that everyone counts in,” Eazi said.
“It has become a pilgrimage. It’s always been fun to organise the experience and bring people from all over the world to rave in Ghana, so it’s nice to come back this year after two whole years off,” he struggled to explain.
As a reminder, Eazi promises top-notch guests for every edition of the ‘Detty Rave’ tour in December and he is taking the event back to its roots by keeping the list of guest artists a secret.
