Google honours Nigeria with a Doodle to celebrate it’s independence day.

Google, the global technology company, has created a one-of-a-kind doodle to commemorate Nigeria’s 61st Independence Day.

To commemorate the occasion, the Google Doodle icon for October 1, 2021 depicts the national colors – green and white – along with the eagle that sits atop the national coat of arms.

Lieutenant David Ejoor, who later became Chief of Army Staff, had the honor of commanding the guard at the midnight flag raising ceremony on the first Independence Day in 1960.

Google thought it would be appropriate to honor Africa’s most populous country with a doodle to commemorate the country’s victories.
