Nigerians expressed disappointment as their hopes of Nigerian Afrobeats star Wizkid winning were dashed.
The disappointment therefore did not fail to spark exchanges on the American social network, Twitter as Nigerians compared Yemi Alade’s song to Angelique Kidjo’s.
They felt that Yemi Alade is underrated and will be the first Nigerian woman to win a Grammy if she continues to concoct catchy hits.
Here are some of the comments gathered from the Nigerian internet users’ exchanges:
@TheOladeledada “Angelique Kidjo has 5 Grammy Awards. When this woman retires, she will pass Elijah’s garment to Yemi Alade and she will one day win #GRAMMYs. Congratulations Mama Evergreen of Africa”.
