Joseph David Keery is an American actor and musician. He is best known for playing Steve Harrington in the science fiction series Stranger Things and for his role in the comedy film Free Guy. Keery releases music under the stage name Djo. He is a former member of the psychedelic rock band Post Animal.

Joseph Keery was born on April 24, 1992, to his parents David and Nina Keery. His father was an architect, and his mother was a college Professor. Keery grew up in Newburyport and began his career as a high school student. He attended both River Valley Charter School, and Newburyport High School. He later proceeded to The Theatre School at DePaul University, where he graduated with a degree in Fine Arts.
