Opeyemi Babatunde Rahim, popularly known as Lyta is a Nigerian singer and song writer who was once signed to YBNL (yahoo boys no laptop) which is owned by Nigerian music superstar Olamide.
Lyta started singing at a young age and began singing professionally at age 12, Lyta is an extremely talented artiste who has a couple of hit songs to his name.

Opeyemi Babatunde Rahim, popularly known as Lyta was born on 4th July 1998. He is a Nigerian singer and songwriter.
He started singing at a very young age and began professional music when he was 12 years old.
According to Lyta, his song TIME was inspired by the death of his best friend in 2017.
Lyta revealed in an interview that he is from a very poor background and that he does music, so he can take care of his blind mother.
He is a native of kwara state but grew up in Ajegunle and was a member of “ile kewu” where he started his music career at his local mosque.
His record deal with YBNL Nation was publicly announced on 3 February 2018. Lyta released single with YBNL Nation, titled “Time”, features vocals by Olamide and was released on 14 February 2018 which was his breakthrough.

He released his debut single under YBNL titled TIME featuring his label boss Olamide.
Lyta left YBNL Nation in 2019 due to contractual and personal issues. After exiting YBNL, he signed with Doro Musik Gang and released the Killer Tunes-produced track “Monalisa” on 12 July 2019. The visuals for “Monalisa”, which was directed by Director K, amassed over 500,000 views within a month after its release.
Davido reached out to Lyta after few weeks release of Monalisa about recording official remix with him. Davido and Lyta flew to Dakar for the remix and video shoot. The remix of “Monalisa” was released on 30 August 2019. The remix video was also directed by Director K. Lyta gained exposure following his collaboration with Davido on the remix.
Lyta released the Afrobeat track “Worry” on 6 December 2019; it was produced by Killer Tunes. The visuals for “Worry” were shot and directed by Simplicity Visual Studios in London.
On the 11 of August 2020, Naira Marley announced publicly on his Instagram page welcoming Lyta to the record label.

Lyta Controversial Disagreement with Olamide
He had a disagreement with former label boss Olamide, who according to sources decided to spend resources promoting fellow YBNL artiste Fireboydml. This didn’t sit well with Lyta, who decided to leave the label.
Lyta’s exit from YBNL surfaced after Olamide unfollowed him on Instagram. In May 2019, Lyta confirmed his exit from YNBL Nation on Naijaloaded TV. Olamide issued a statement to Guardian Life, saying YBNL has a promotion calendar that Lyta refused to follow.
According to Olamide, Lyta didn’t want to follow the label calendar for artist promotion.
Olamide stated that Lyta told him, that a different label wanted to sign him, and even though he (Olamide) knew Lyta was lying, he gave him his blessings and wished him well in his future endeavors.
According to Lyta, he was paid 70,000 to 90,000 naira for shows and he never really signed a written contract with YBNL.
Lyta was angry when Olamide decided to focus his attention on Lyta’s label mate Fireboydml and so decided to leave.
Whatever the reason for his departure, it didn’t stop Lyta from making great music.
