American Rapper HYPO stabbed to death at a party in London.
Police believe that the events leading up to the stabbing may have been filmed and are asking anyone who saw the incident, filmed it or has information to contact East London Police.
A murder investigation has been launched after the man was stabbed to death at a party in East London.
Rapper Lamar Jackson, also known as rapper Hypo, was found with stab wounds by police and paramedics after they were called to report a fight that broke out.
The 39-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene in Woodford, despite the efforts of emergency services. According to news reports L. Jackson is the ex-boyfriend of singer Emeli Sande and has previously collaborated with Jamaican DJ Popcaan. The Hypo rapper has released several tracks over the years, including Flex On My X, First Night and No L’s.
Actor and rapper Genesis Elijah paid tribute to the musician by writing a poem and tweeting, “I still have images of me Hypes and Dappy chilling at the store that I never released. RIP Hypo.”
His family has been notified and is being supported by specialist officers, but a formal identification has not yet taken place, police said.
Detective Chief Inspector Laurence Smith said, “This attack took place at a party and we know that a large number of people would have been present. I urge anyone who has not yet spoken to us to come forward and let us know what you saw. It is possible that the events leading up to the stabbing, and possibly the murder itself, were captured on people’s phones. Take a look and give us a call. It’s vital that we establish what happened.”
No arrests have yet been made and a crime scene remains in the area.
