Barbadian singer Robyn Fenty, better known as Rihanna, has revealed why she refuses to hide her baby bump in public.
The star announced in January 2022 that she was expecting her first child after her belly shots with boyfriend ASAP Rocky went viral on the web.
Following her announcement, she attended several public functions with her “baby bump” exposed.
In an interview, Rihanna confessed that after confirming her pregnancy, she decided not to buy maternity clothes.
“When I found out I was pregnant, I told myself there was no way I was going to go shopping in the maternity ward. I’m sorry, it’s too much fun to dress up. I’m not going to let that part disappear because my body is changing,” she said.
The now formidable businesswoman also said she sees pregnancy as a celebration that shouldn’t be hidden.
She said that society should redefine what is considered decent for pregnant women.
“My body is doing amazing things right now and I’m not going to be ashamed of it. This time it should be festive. Why should you hide your pregnancy?” she points out in an annoyed tone.
Speaking about how she continues to dazzle in her outfits, Rihanna thanked her stylist, Jahleel Weever, for always taking care of her looks.
“I know he loses sleep over it, because my measurements can literally change by the hour. In fact, I’m sure he’s going to ask for a raise after this.
Sharing details about the pregnancy journey, Rihanna mentioned that it went relatively smoothly with the support of her friends and family.
When asked what scares her the most about pregnancy, she said, “Post-pregnancy depression. Will I feel emotionally out of control? It’s the stories I hear about other women that scare me.
