Abbey Elias, better known as Skiibii Mayana, was born in Surulere, Lagos State, Nigeria on July 5, 1992. He was raised in Lagos State. Skiibii, which means “Smart and Sharp Person,” was given to him by one of his uncles. In Lagos, he attended both primary and secondary school. He earned a bachelor’s degree in mass communication from the University of Ado Ekiti (now known as Ekiti State University).

Skiibii began his musical career in high school as a rapper before moving to R&B. He had to overcome numerous challenges as he grew older, notably when it came time to inform his parents of his job choice. His father did not share his enthusiasm for music.
Skiibii persisted in his dreams until he began his professional music career on December 24, 2014, after signing with Five Star Music and obtaining a special package that included a brand new 2014 Hyundai SUV.
