Peter Gardner Ostrom is a veterinarian and former child actor from the United States. In the 1971 film Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory, he played Charlie Bucket.

He was born on November 1, 1957, in Dallas, Texas, to Dean Gardner Ostrom (1922-2014) and Sarepta Mabel (née Pierpont; born 1922).

Peter is the fourth and youngest of four children. Ostrom was twelve years old when he moved to Cleveland, where he was described as a native by MSNBC, and later attended North Hunterdon Regional High School in Hunterdon County, New Jersey.
