AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic unveiled a new trailer for the film on his Twitter account. The trailer was for a new movie called Asterix and Obelix: The Middle Kingdom. The movie features Obelix, which is why it was named Roman. It was to be released on September 25, 2022.
The 40-year-old sportsman is expected to play a Roman soldier who looks a lot like King Caesar in a film that has been anticipated for many years. The film will be released on February 1, 2023, 10 years after the beginning of its production.
In an interview with the Journal de Dimanche, Guillaume Canet, the director of the film, revealed the important role that the Milanese number 9 played in this unique film production. It was originally called Abribus, but Canet renamed it Antivirus because the actor’s vaccine – literally Antivirus – was slow to arrive, he explained.
The idea to cast Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the film came from Yohan Bayada, one of the film’s co-producers. Yohan approached Guillaume Canet, who also starred in the film and played the role of Asterix. Canet then contacted Ibrahimovic and described him as confident and arrogant.
He believes that his taekwondo training makes him invincible and therefore refuses to take the drug. Zlatan Ibrahimovic shared unseen footage from the film with the words “Vive la France”. He was one of the first to endorse the idea; other actors in the film include Ramzy Bedia, Guillaume Canet, Gilles Lelouche, Jose Garcia and Jonathan Cohen.
Swedish striker Gustavo serves as an example of a well-known public celebrity alongside YouTuber McFly, Carlito, rapper Orelsan and singer Angèle. The Asterix movies have featured many famous sports stars as characters in their own right before Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
These include Michael Schumacher, Tony Parker, Amélie Mauresmo and Zinédine Zidane. In fact, these actors appeared in the 2008 film Asterix at the Olympic Games.
